Fostering a homeless pet is a wonderful way to help the homeless pet population

It is a service that contributes to the community and is one of the easiest ways that you can help a pet that has found itself without a home.

Fostering can last for just a few days or may last for a few months. We ask that foster parents care for the pet until they find a forever home.

Foster pet parents will be asked to:

• Provide a safe place for the pet to live until they find a new home.
• Help the pet with any medical needs they may have. Many pets go to a foster home shortly after being spayed or neutered.
• Give the pets the love and attention they need, including taking them for walks and making time to play.
• Help spread the news that you are fostering a pet that is in need of a home.

Fostering A Pet Can Save Their Life

Many of the pets that we rescue come from local shelters that do not have a no-kill policy. Animals that enter these shelters often have a very limited time to be adopted. We help these overcrowded shelters by taking these animals and finding them homes. We do not think that an animal should be put down because they have become homeless.

Fostering a homeless pet can help prevent that pet from becoming a statistic at that shelter. It is giving this wonderful animal a chance to find a family to love. Fostering a pet is an act of kindness and compassion.

Fostering Can Teach Your Children New Skills

Your family will benefit when you foster a pet. Children can experience the joys of playing with a pet and taking care of them. Your children will also learn about the responsibilities of taking care of a pet.

Children learn the importance of feeding and watering their pets each day so that they stay healthy. They learn that you must do things like walk or play with your dog to keep them happy. They learn how to play with a cat and to keep it healthy and happy.

Learning these skills will not only roll over to other areas of their lives, but your children will also learn how important it is to take care of a pet if they choose to have one as an adult.

Fostering Helps Animals Adjust To Their New Homes

There can be a lot of anxiety associated with becoming a homeless animal. Pets get scared just like people when they face uncertainty. Fostering a pet helps these pets feel secure in their new surroundings.

Pet foster parents provide so many benefits to homeless pets. Many people wonder how they can help these pets; fostering is a magnificent way to contribute to their cause. You can help an animal stay out of a public shelter, keep them healthy and happy, and help them find a forever home. It is a wonderful and rewarding way to donate your time and talents.
